Synopsis!
"Barbarella" is a 1968 erotic sci-fi film directed by Roger Vadim and based on the French Barbarella comics from Jean-Claude Forest.

Plot!
Set in the 40th century, Barbarella follows the adventures of its title character played by Jane Fonda. In the film, Barbarella is tasked by the President of Earth with retrieving Doctor Durand Durand from the planet SoGo in order to save the earth. Beyond this premise, the plot is very loose, serving mostly as an excuse for Barbarella to end up in erotic situations. On her quest to find Durand Durand, Barbarella is seduced by a human resident of SoGo, who introduces her to penetrative intercourse (civilized people of Barbarella's society find sexual release through pharmaceuticals), seduces an angel named Pygar, and overloads a torture device (called the Excessive Machine) which kills through sexual pleasure.

  • "Barbarella" was released in 1968, not 1964.

  • @weststee88 says someone with the DUMBEST SHIT EVER favourited

Are you aware .... like, at all ? Omg lol

  • This is a property that can really be developed. State of the art effects. Stronger actress. Make the focus of continuity pace the story. It's a developed galaxy and someone possesses a weapon that can annihilated a solar system at will within it. I'd like to see the settings of a 41st Century done with a human story and back dropped with sex, conflict, wonder and the epic ending. If it's real good the sequels will write themselves?

  • I know it may look odd. but trust me, this movie is really nice one. Of course Jane is sexy but obscenity is not appealing point of this movie. It is more ideological and philosophical presentation on human life. All the space -science stuffs are only wrap decoration; and real core is love over life struggles. The angel looking guy said he could fly but he couldn't b/c he lost a will to fly. Such deep wound could be cured only by love, the movie said through Jane.

  • this looks like the dumbest film ever

  • thanks

  • great
