For my beginning recording class (Music 94), my final project was to record a song with at least 5 tracks on the Tascam 424. I decided to cover Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson's version of "Valerie." The requirements for the final were to have great sound quality, mix, compress and use the following as best as possible: Tascam 424, Tascam CD A500, AKG C1000, SM57, Shure Beta, Alesis Picoverb, and PreSonus compressor.
I had Kent Ryan transpose it a whole step higher from the original, in case any of you notice a key change.
I know there are still some imperfections/flaws I need to work on, but for someone who didn't think of actually choosing Recording Engineering as a career, I am REALLY proud to say this is my first project. I'm glad to share the final outcome of what I made and a few clips from the 3 sessions it took to make this song (not video taped: Kent Ryan on acoustic guitar and me on vocals).
I hope you guys enjoy! :]
Thank you to Kent Ryan (Kentdonething via Youtube) for being the "talent" (sans vocals)!
