I don't have any children myself, but I do think a lot the legacy that we'll leave for our current children and future generations of we don't start tackling this problem head on. I have already started replacing incandescent light bulbs by led bulbs. Also, I'm sacrificing some comfort during summertime and wintertime by setting the thermostat a little bit higher during the summer, and lower during the winter.
but if we switched to water...when the water is all soaked up by the billions of people who inhabit earth...how will we continue to live without water??? freshwater is minimal across the board (compared to billions who will consume it rapidly)
Honestly... How unintelligent does a person have to be to not believe in global warming? Just looking at how much greenland has melted alone should give people a pretty good idea of what's happening.
You guys have GOT to get used to the fact that global warming is REAL. If you would take the time to read a little bit, it's very obvious. Even Stephen Hawking, the greatest Physicist of our time, has stated that he's afraid we've reached a point of no return, and the planet is spiraling to its death.
As for the Mars scenario, Mars has very distinct seasons, like Earth, which cause its "ice" caps to melt at certain periods. It's not even close to the same phenomenon. Also set on Mars, it should be noted that that's the sourt of planet ours will be in a billion or so years, after Carbon Dioxide (which is about 95% of the Martian atomosphere) causes global "cooling." It's happening. Get used to it.
