This is Olive, a Canadian Lynx I rescued at three weeks old from a fur farm in Montana back in 1996. The experience of raising her in a high rise apartment was priceless, litter trained and all. I was living in a complex located at the corner of First Ave. & Broad Street (Beltown) in downtown Seattle, WA. She then moved with me up to Sedro Wooley, WA for a few years, and then finally to Prescott, AZ, where she passed away at the age of 12. I miss her deeply.
DISCLAIMER: Canadian Lynx is a wild feline, ownership is not recommended. This was a unique chapter in my life. The rescue/adoption saved her from becoming a 'Sporty Winter Jacket' on a runway in Europe, and gave her 12 years of living the life of a loved animal.

  • A cat that big must need some pretty big toys! That is so awesome that you rescued this beautiful animal..power to the people! Some of the comments are strange..This cat was probably taken from the wild as a baby, and therefore wouldn't know how to behave in the wild, and as for the comment about the inappropriate climate, I'm sure it would adapt..I seriously doubt the people who stole him for the fur trade would have kept him in the snow. Also, he looks very happy to be kept as a pet-so lay off!

  • @Mrspadalecki34 This is a long-over due follow-up to the comments to this video; and you helped. Thank you for your common sense. The information I did not share about Olives' previous living situation/rescue. Her parents lived in 6' x 6' cages, stacked atop one another. People who have negative opinions apparently do not know or are just ignorant, The Lynx lives and hunts with their mother for two years before they can fend for themselves. It also snows here in Prescott, AZ

  • @weimerowner ran out of characters....Once the young Lynx at this farm were harvested, they were skinned and the carcass was ground up and fed back to it's parents. So to all that have the illuminated perspective (not @Mrspadalecki34) that she would have been better off dropped into the 'wild' to live her life free for about three to five days until she starved to death, you are correct. Thank you so much for your carefully crafted response(s). You are my inspiration!!!!!!!!!

  • @pelkman85 It is encouraging to know that there are people in this world like this man who will stand up and fight to save these beautiful animals, and that there are people like you and I who care.

  • @Mrspadalecki34 I agree. it is one of the major problems of our great planet is GREED.

  • @pelkman85 I just wish these people would wake up and realise that life is more important than money. That compassion, integrity and doing the right thing is far more powerful and lasting.

  • @Mrspadalecki34 people who kill these majestic cats should be shot themselves hung upside and skinned as reminder of the cruelty in which we project on this earth
