    "Fiend" is a correct translation as is "Enemy"

    But the International title for the film is "My best fiend"

    No, "My best fiend" is a better translation. The German title "Mein liebster fiend" is a play on words ("fiend" instead of the expected "freund").

    In English, the more idiomatic phrase is "My best friend", not "my dearest friend". So this title is closer to the original meaning and wordplay.
