@freddiesfavorite Freddie did a lot of crazy things back and 82-83 and he was well aware that there is high chance that he was infected by AIDS. So Brian did got everything little backwards!

I find it very interesting (and even strangely prophetic) that even though Freddie didn't know he had HIV until 1987 - alot of things he's said previously in interviews (and even many early Queen song lyrics) seem to make you think that Freddie knew what his destiny was going to be somehow. Not that he specifically knew he would someday die of AIDS, but that somewhere in his mind he wouldn't live to get old. Frankly, I think Freddie would be bored out of his mind becoming an old man......

brightonrock74, in this video brian claims that freddie already knew, but freddie didn't know anything nor suspected anything ... infact it was in 1987 when he and jim were coming back from a holiday in japan that the press bombarded him at heathrow airport about him having hivaids ... and freddie told them to go away ... do i look like i'm dying of aids ...
but it was after that, that triggered his
curiosity about it all ... and finally decided to take the hiv test ...

He may have had his HIV test and diagnosis in 1987, but it's almost certain that he contracted it years earlier. Freddie was very promiscuous in the early 80's which coincided with the explosion of AIDS cases amongst the gay community at the same time. It takes years for the virus to progress to the point that rendered Freddie as ill as he was in the late 80's

Hearing Freddie's bit at the beginning - "We're going to stay together 'til we fucking well die, I'm sure". - is always bittersweet. He had HIV/AIDS during Wembley, that is certain, but he put on such an amazing performance.

freddie had his hiv test in 1987 around easter time according to jim hutton,
so brian got everything a little backwards ..
