This sculpture is about 30" tall and 18" wide.
3 tracks with 2 track splitters.
100% brass wire (3/32") and is silver soldered.
The 5/8" (standard size) marbles are hand fed into the top trough and released with the touch of your finger one by one.
The marbles are released onto the track when you press down on the small lever at the bottom.
A "C" shaped wire pushes the marbles one by one on to the track.
There is an inner track, outer track and the loop d' Loop track.
Sculpture built June 2004 See more at www.rollingballsculpture.com

  • I've always loved ball machines like these, but it's hard to appreciate this one since the quality isn't really clear and the vid length is quite short ;).

  • I totally agree. I had used an old digital camera for the video...this video was taken like 5 years ago. This particular sculpture was a gift for someones son, lucky kid.

  • what is he doing with the finger at the beginning??

  • Most of the marbles have already been release, but the finger is releasing the last of them. (My camera at the time only took short vids). Each push of the finger pushed one marble onto the top track, that short track lead into a track splitter. Side 1 at the switch leads to track 1, side 2 leads to another splitter, and leads to tracks 2 and 3. 3 tracks total. : )

  • wow the design is so confusing that my head hurts

  • cool, but i can't see anything. it's a garbled blur. brutal video.

  • That would be an awesome Gumball machine

  • Lucky kid indeed ;). If there ever arises another opportunity to film this with a clearer picture, please be sure to post it. If not, thanks for at least this because it helps me prove to myself that there is immense power in art ;).
