TiGMMI is a contemporary dance performance led by the Moroccan choreographer Brahim Sourny under the program A CONTEMPORARY APPROACH TO NORTH-SOUTH TRADITIONAL DANCE initiated by the Portuguese association PédeXumbo, with the support of the Anna Lindh Foundation.
In Amazigh language, TiGMMi means "home".
TIGMMI is the culmination of a creative process that uses the choreography to aboard the issues of the collective identity. It is to question the "living together".
In this performance the dancers' bodies seem to constantly search for a solidarity balance and a collective bearer. The precariousness of this union provoke a singular escapement which establish the relations of domination and question the notions of leadership, concepts which are reflected both in the collective history of societies as well as in the personal history of individuals.
