Left 4 Dead: The Battle for Helms Deep (New Custom Map)

In this video my friends and I play on a very cool custom survival map that mimics the battle of Helms Deep from Lord of the Rings. This map was extremely well done with almost every detail perfect from the wall that blows up around 4:00 into the timer to the keep and tower which can summon the horde with the horns.

One of our favorite features of this map was that you could hold out in many different spots, and once that spot was overtaken you could retreat further up the keep until you got to the top of the tower. We had many epic moments where we were running further up the keep with the hordes close behind us.

We even created our own game on this map where one of the survivors would type "spectate" in console and turn "sv_cheats 1" on. With 4 or 5 trusted friends the spectating survivor became the Director of the game. This person would bind their keys to things such as "bind v "z_spawn smoker"" or summon hordes with "bind c "z_spawn common;
z_spawn common;z_spawn common;z_spawn common;
z_spawn common;z_spawn common;z_spawn common;"" this allowed you to spawn entire hordes at once and plan where your attacks come from. As long as the director plays fair and doesnt spawn more than one tank or spawns infected behind the survivors this made for a very exciting new game mode where everyone had fun. You guys should try it too and post your own examples :D

Once again we found this map a lot of fun both in its looks and also in its gameplay. Anyone that loves a good survival map or is a fan of Lord of the Rings will love this map:

(Yes this map is almost a copy of the Age of Chivalry version. It was re-worked for Left 4 Dead, if you have a problem about it take it up with the author of the map not me.)
