F1 2010 Hands On Preview and Interview with Andy Gray of Codemasters

http://www.insidesimracing.tv presents episode 65 of Inside Sim Racing. In this show we get to meet up with Andy Gray from Codemasters and we get to preview F1 2010 in it's early alpha stages. We actually brought our own wheel in with us for the occasion a Fanatec 911 Turbo S attached to a Rennsport wheel stand. Shaun and Darin give you their take on this early build while Jessica interviews Andy Gray and tries to get some new details on the upcoming title. We also have our 43rd Top Sim Car of all time. Hey guys, seeing as you drove the early alpha code - would you say that this (driving experience) is going to be pretty much like driving Forza III type of physics but with F1 cars and tracks?? Cheers, roll on E3... btw, you know I don't mean that Codies have modelled handling based on a Fiat 500 lol...

@Wainster Yes I would say it's handling will be close to Forza.. Graphics.. I think F1 may have them beat.. Forza is very nicely done though..

Well just checked there is no Anthony Davidson registered with iRacing? considering the iRacing service demands you use your real name for registering, and drivers such as Dales Earnhardt Jnr, Marcos Ambrose etc. are all registered and higher profile. Either Andy Gray is talking crap or Anthony Davidson has dodgied his subsciption to iRacing, rules clearly state you are not supposed to be using their sim with an Alias

@ATRCar88 He could be running in test mode under someone elses account. iRacing doesn't have a problem with that.

@TheMGformula I like NASCAR, but its never on hardley in the uk. i used to love baseball on chanel 5 at about 1 in the morning to 6, dam those were the days, i had school in the morning to... bad times. but good times aswell.

@Wainster lol i personally don't think its like forza. i train using forza 3 for my f1 2010 competition and its quite different, one thing for sure, you don't get to drift all the time like in forza even when i'm using an R1 car. which is a good thing btw.

I have 1 question actually... If you're racing with the fanatec racing wheel, with the 6 speed gearbox... How about if you're driving a lexus Is-F which has 8 gears ?

guys you don't need to drive an F1 car to know what the physics would be like, or how it'd feel.

if you have any basic grasp of physics and just some common sense, and watch the onboard footage from real life clips, you can easily judge how it feels and what its like, and what a simulator Should be representing.

why dont you apply that logic to all the games you test? because you KNOW why for e.g rfactor is more realistic than e.g. forza. even tho youve never driven any of the cars in real life

@CricketAustralia7 forza 3 has bad handling, f1 will surely beat it. the cars turn like turtles in forza 3. if you hvave seen any dev diaries of f1 for handling you will see that forza 3 will be beaten into submission. F1 owns forza sucks
