So here is a piece I did a while back for a teambuilding convention for Abbot Pharmaceuticals, a big diabetic supply company. Over the course of eight hours or so, I had to facilitate the conceptualization, scripting, shooting, and editing of a one-minute piece for a group of 10 or so pharmaceutical salesmen, which sounds a lot easier than it actually is if you can believe it. I wasn't allowed to do anything more than "guide" them in so far as what their video was to be about, how it was scripted, or put together. My team was assigned the theme of "Taming the Managed Care Beast," whatever that means. After grabbing some ridiculous stock costumes that were laying around, we took to the parking lot of the hotel to shoot this bad boy. I couldn't even hold the camera, as this job was assigned to one of the salesmen for "teambuilding" purposes. So we shoot the thing, then go back to check out the footage, which of course was awful. So it was time to work my magic and drip gooey, over the top effects all over this steaming pile, until the audience would be too distracted to notice the flaws. And, if I do say so myself, mission: not entirely failed.
Fresh.
