San Diego Mesa College Walk on Water Spring 2010

The University of San Diego hosts an annual Walk on Water competition every spring. Local colleges and high schools compete to see whose design will get them across the pool in the quickest amount of time. San Diego Mesa College won the college division in spring of 2010. This video illustrates how "boat shoes" go from design to finished product, and the amount of testing that's required to achieve the ideal shoe. San Diego Mesa College tried to minimize drag while adding stability with their catamaran design. It paid off in testing, but fell short during the competition. The school won with their previous year's design.
