SOLUN - Macedonian City (Not Greek)

Solun/Thessaloniki/Salonika/Selnik is a Macedonian city, the history of Solun is the history of Macedonia. Greece for the first time in the history occupied Solun in the Balkan wars and made an ethnic cleaning against the local Macedonians. Also after the Balkan wars there was an process of assimilation against the Macedonian people so many of the Ethnic Macedonians from Solun and the rest of the Aegean Macedonia were forced to speak Greek and not Macedonian. The Greek propaganda included also a brainwashing with TV, Schools and other methods.

After the Balkan Wars with the ethnic cleaning, in Solun and the rest of Aegean Macedonia came over 630 000 Christians from Turkey (mostly Greeks but also many of the other nationalities which were assimilated). With the growing of the world population this Turkish-Christians now are over 1 200 000 and live in the houses of the Ethnic Macedonians who were forced to go out of this land.

Also the population in Ethnic and Historical Macedonia (United Macedonia) in the past was very different, the Greeks from Macedonia were always minority and always around 200 000, if you would like to see the population of the region of Macedonia in the past you could look at the my video about the old maps....
