yeah down shifting does upset the car a little bit but at gateway from what i heard its alot faster out of the corners to be in third gear , plus its also easier on the brakes

i'm thinking its just for better gearing coming off the turn. fourth gear might drag the acceleration down off of the turn

Correct me if I'm wrong in assuming this, but the downshift into 3rd would upset the car a tad, wouldn't it? Perhaps kinda help in rotating through the corner a little more.
I'm just going by sim racing experience, I dunno. lol Just curious, I guess.
