  • I can see why Americans are considered stupid, they vote for morons like this.

  • This guy is a moron. But what else can you expect? He's a Texan and a Republican. And a Congressman too!

  • Won't work for long so its not a solution. Go build ya a refinery. So short sighted. Its a good thing most people are smarter than this guy.

  • Part 2

The families living there must be part of the "nothing" Mr. Poe speaks of. Also, the Inupiat & Gwich'in live there. Well **** them, the US doesn't give a **** about Indians, never has, they won't be allowed to get in our way. There's Caribou and whales there to. But we don't value the Indians, why should we value their only sources of jobs, income, and food? Conveniently, any Indians who don't want to leave will starve to death when the Caribou are eliminated, solving many problems.

  • "ANWR", Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. "Where nothing is", says the man from the country of Texas. It is somewhat left to the area he indicated. It is also _a_lot_ smaller than he implied

Congressional authorization is required before oil drilling may proceed in this area; this is true. Also true, the area has no roads, none. those will cost money to build and you can get to the oil without some roads. There is also cities there, Kaktovik and Arctic Village.

  • Drill baby drill is the latest chant of the republican corporate-owned puppets. And of course it will have zero effect on the price of gas. Mike Gravel said if they would stop sabre rattling against other countries like Iran, the price would probably be cut in half. If we attack them the price per barrel could go to $300. Congress says CAFE standard of 33 MPG by 2012. China has that now! Europe has 45! But Congressmen don't want to offend their corporate paymasters. Nader for president!

  • Oil will run out, so were are the alternatives before that happens? This Republican is not bright.
