To me, the real key to having an LP show is to keep it about the games and having fun, whether you're failing or not.
And, yes, you have to keep the ego in check. I don't have an ego, so it's all good, lol. You just have to remember what (hopefully) got you into it in the first place. I started doing videos because it looked like fun and I'm, still having fun doing it, even when the games piss me off to no end, hehe.
Also, who needs a diddy? The games should speak for themselves!
-
You forgot kWing, who sold out recently, he had like 40-50 second intro to his videos.
-
Hey, I have a show, a-hole! And my "diddy" is only like 10 seconds long so choke it down and watch me!!! Unless you count the remix that Chris Holland did for me, then I have two I guess.
I agree about the LP's for guys that don't do commentary. That's basically what AVGN does; let's plays with bizarre commentary.

Hint Hint :P
Nah doing it a bit is alright.
-
hes my thing. if its short, fine. if its long, thats fucked up. and yes, a full minute is too long (spoony and AVGN). make it 15 secs max and actually enjoyable (aqualung) then i dont care.
-
Spoony has a song, WHATTHEBUCK, hotforwords, sxephil, even companies like IGN etc. I just think the same intro over and over for videos that come out every week. Its sad.
-
I loved the ending about people with theme songs on every one of their videos (Take the hint Aqualung, Zero Punctuation, AVGN, etc.). I also think LPing isn't a low form of entertainment, because when you capture something near-impossible in a game on camera, we all get entertainment and laughs out of it :)
-
XD Lucky I went into LPing because I enjoy video games rather than wanting to be famous.

Yay! The goose is back! :D
I'm not so much into LPs, I only watch your show... er... I mean videos along with some other dude on youtube, and neither of you does have a music intro.
However, a "Hello everyone" along with some kind of slogan that people can remember and connect with that particular LPer is something I like.
And if you think about the "big dudes of video game business" like the AVGN, I'd even go that far to say that a personal intro theme is essential. But thats just my opinion.
I can't fucking stand LPers who sign made up lyrics to video game songs, or they sign the video game songs notes. It's alright in small doeses, but when it's done for the majority of the LP and they sign about what they are doing it's really stupid.
