I wrote this song in 1996 after a road-trip through the Wind Cave National Park & the Wind River Indian Reservation (Wyoming) - home of the Eastern Shoshone & Arapaho people (in one of my other lives I deal in Native American arts). I was on my way to Crow Fair at Crow Agency Montana where Deniz Tek (local physician & Radio Birdman dude) introduced me to the Big Day family of Pryor Montana who remain close friends to this day. The pow wow footage is of the Grand Parade at Crow Fair '96 & some of the many dancers from Indian country all over the US- heady stuff. The Drum at the end is members of the Fights Alone Singers- Derek Big Day, Nick, Bill Big Day, Heywood Big Day, Jase Big Day (joined by Larry, a bead trader later in the piece). in the background are the foothills of the Pryor Mountains. The band is shot live at the Cooks River Motor Boat Club in Sydney & the track is from the Sideshow Alley cd.
