great! Is it difficult to program openCV to track a sphere / ball in motion ? What hardware should I use ? Do I need a high speed camera ?

Panda3d is not an application. Please read the Panda3d.org landing page. it tells you that panda3d is a framework, a collection of libraries to help you developing applications. thus, there is no "exe" file to click on, you create those using panda.
if you want to use panda, you have to learn programming.
although it has nothing to do with the "problem" you'r experiencing. i'm not using windows (as you can see in the vid), so i can't help you with windows-errors.
