  • To wait for the pressure to equalize does not work. On mythbusters, they had to wait under water more than 90 seconds before the pressure equalized. By then, you're dead. Get out as fast as possible. If you open the door right away, there is not enough water outside to hold it closed. Also through the window works.

  • If the front window imploded all that bad he should of just went out the huge hole in the windshield.

professional actors willing to put there lifes at risk for that few more minutes of golden time. That's ratings for you.

  • @dadinck actually you arent dead, your just unconsious, they could still save you after 90 seconds

  • @dadinck You may be right. But it also depends on what body of water your car lands in. Today's cars are also designed to where the automatic locks will unlock the car to let you out!

  • @ScientologySucksAss Well that is hard do to. If the windshield implodes, you have sharp edges that can cut you in addition to the windshield wipers in your way. Although the guy paniced and turned on his windshield wipers while the car was still above water.

  • The video is well made, but the audio is a little bit distorted!

  • Well, yes. It is also depends on what type of body of water you hit and how your car could land in the water. When I took driver's ed back in 1980, they didn't show these type of videos back then.

  • The guy instead turned on the windshield wipers. He got so panicy that his hand went too far and missed the window controls and advanced the windshield wipers. His car did have a sun roof. This is why you should NEVER panic. Plus the audio in this film sounds a bit distorted.

  • I think in mythbusters they didnt need to hold their breath for 90 seconds. When they asked the lady she said i minute and 37 seconds. I think she meant when they just started or i might be wrong.

  • There are some glass you do want to shatter. That's your window. Sometimes you have to break the window to get out. Most newer cars also come with better gaskets and more sealent around the doors to keep the water out.

  • too bad mary jo kopechne didn't have this information, lol.

  • cars should be equipped with water sensonr for rpessure and automatic down windows.

  • to prevent window shattering. most new cars have shatter proof windsheilds. and other windows, get an aftermarket window tint. its a film and it holds the glass together.

  • if u didnt take a good look at the windshield..it was not that big of a hole for him to get out..and the ENTIRE weindshield was not off..it was jst a hole in the middle.

  • i would really panic in this situation even if i followed the directions (although i can swim well, i never swim without goggles. and another factor is being traumatized by a 911 call involving a similar situation that i heard on a journalism class)
