Verdant's a top horse in the handicap ranks. But after seeing him beaten by Indian Days in the John Porter at Newbury and by Alainmaar in the Buckhound's Stakes at Ascot, can't say I'm convinced that Verdant is a patent stakes racehorse. JMO.

Verdant's been really awesome at handicap level, and he's obviously trained extremely well by Sir Michael Stoute. But I thought he was pretty disappointing stepping into patent stakes company as race favorite in his 2011 debut in the John Porter Stakes at Newbury. Indian Days, Bridge of Gold, and Poet left him for dead, and Allied Powers even picked him up late to beat him home for 4th.

Verdant is probably one of, if not the best handicap level horse that Juddmonte Farms has racing in handicaps at this time. Trained by Sir Michael Stoute. So you know Verdant has solid skills. 7-4-1-1 lifetime to date. Having faced the likes of Dandino, Green Moon, and Australia Day in different handicap's.
