As bad as they were and they were , the message given by hanging young women has always been the same , no one is safe.

Unfortunatly that was not true even with the NAZI's these women were low grade in the grand scheme of things and totally disposable and it made for good press. It looked like retribution was happening. While many of the higher ups simply vanished.or were saved by the allies.

I think that less that 5000 were actually put on trial with a small number of them executed.
