on DEC 4th 2011 the st. Louis Rams came into town to play the 9-2 San Fransisco 49ers. during the 3rd quarter the fans began to celebrate by performing the wave. the 49ers beat the rams, clinched the NFC WEST DIVISION, and gave them a automatic birth to the 2011 PLAYOFFS. the 49ers debuted their new kick off song "Tony Montana" as well. this same day RB frank gore became the franchise's all-time rushing leader. a big accomplishment for a NFL player. in addition QB Alex Smith had a career all time performance to date, with a QB rating of 142.3. the 49ers defense also had its first 2011 shut out with a 26-0 victory. a epic day in 49ers history.
