  • I heard this song performed by the Vienna Boys Choir during their January 1982 Carnegie Hall concert. Absolutely gorgeous. (P.S. The conductor was Josef Doeller and a number of those kids would one year later perform in the 1983 Tokyo concert which we can see on YouTube.)

  • Thank you for this information.

  • Thanks for this orion. Refreshment for the soul! I think it's one of the best things I've heard from WSK - and that's saying a lot...

  • Thank you for your friendly comment.

  • I've not much idea what the words meant but that sounded tremendously dramatic. Amazing to have been sung by such young boys!

  • It is not that dramatic.

It is good to rest in the wood.

    But to beautiful to sleep.

    Let hear the burgler(horn).

Let the birds be thinking it's morning

already, everybody has to wake up now.

    Enjoy the night.

  • This is yet a beautiful reflection of the excellence of the WSK during the Ferdinand Grossmann era, which included the direction of Uwe Christian Harrer.

Oh to hear such singing from the stage today!

  • Amazing rendering from a wonderful music group! Does anyone have a recording of this piece in its version for men's choir and 4 horns? I have the notes and want to perform it but haven't heard a single recording. Thanks.
