When you get your new rifle or pistol with a rifled steel barrel, you are going to want to clean it. At least run a couple patches through it. This is how I go about cleaning it. This is not for shooting maintenance.

  • I used some solvent on my Benjamin 397 and 392 do you think I should worry?

  • @ericdgreat2005 I wouldn't have done that but if it is still working then I guess it is ok. Take the barrel off next time if that is possible.

  • I wanna see the other video lol

  • @phgHunter why does nobody tell me these things!

  • @thebowlzack lol yep

  • @phgHunter oh my god........thats what that little screwy hole thing at the tip is for???....an attachment???? i just stuck it straight in with a square of the silk shoved in before it LOL

  • @thebowlzack What attachment do you have at the end of your rod? You can use a jag for patches which looks like a drill bit kind of that spirals down. Then there is a patch attachment that basically just has a slot to put the patch in and push it through.

  • @phgHunter thanks bud. i straightened it out as much as possible and it went down the barrel like a bar of soap on a waterslide. i have those flat cotton/silk patches, and i want so sure how to get those down the barrel, so i rolled it up, shoved it in, and pushed the rod in behind...the patch didnt pick up too much stuff because it didnt have much friction, but i couldnt fit it in any other way. i did that about 4 times, every session getting loads of black soot out. thanksagainfor all thehelp
