Week of the Blackhawk Day 2:1-77 Field Artillery

Day two of our seven-day video compilation focuses on 1-77 FA, the "Falcons First" battalion. Unlike many of the heavily populated areas in Iraq where collateral damage concerns limit opportunities for indirect fire, the wide open terrain of Paktika province allows the artillerymen of 1-77 FA to do what they do best: put steel on target. The battalion has thus far fired more than 6,000 rounds since assuming the mission on August 7th, 2011. Further, HHC/1-77 FA is partnering effectively with the Afghan National Army's D30 battery to ensure that our Afghan partners maintain indirect fire capability long after we are gone.
