Beautiful looking place.

they weren"t "just swimming" as had been insinuated, they were JUMPING off the hight rocks. Are you an english major? Do you have a problem with quotation marks? What in heavens name makes no sense.
-
@jake23311 Why is everything in "quotation" marks ? Your story makes "no sense" either.

No one is saying but "just swimming" doesn't make sense. If they "went swimming" they would have gone in where its "quieter". When they tried to get "to shore" they were trying to get to the area where jumpers get out. Waves were too strong for them to fight. No one could do anything but watch. If you've been there you know there are people on all levels of the rocks. Was right down where the rescue boat came in, bodies were being washed to the rocks, were pulled out. Bad what was witnessed.

@jake23311 how did they drown? were they jumping off the cliffs?

Enjoyed the video.Just returned from camping Cypress Lake. Mostly hiking this time. Been up4 times now. Have U done Devils Monument & hiked down? or Singing Sands? Or Cabot lighthouse? Kayaking out, too windy on the one day we had set aside for it. Were at the grotto when 2 brothers drowned so left us not enjoying the remainder of the weekend. Will be going again. Love Adirondacks & Bruce.

I can't wait for spring to arrive. I miss the Bruce Trail so much and this video is just spectacular. Great shots. Absolutely beautiful. Makes me miss the Bruce so much more than I already do. I have already started gathering my backpacking equipment and supplies. I bought new hiking boots today. Thank you so much for posting this video. I will film and post photos from my hike this spring.

It has been so cold on the Bruce this winter. Nice to see the summer that will come.

Hello 72se, I enjoyed your video, a nice compilation which capture some of the natural splendour one can find when hiking the Bruce. This would be great for the Canada’s Got Treasures collection, which aims to feature Canadian videos of personal or cultural significance. Help celebrate Canadian diversity by joining our YouTube group (/group/TresorTreasure) and submitting your video. It would be made available on our channel and website.

Just noticed how much the water has dropped. It was MUCH higher than that in the 'Grotto'. You couldnt see to that hole kids swim through. That was in 2006, the last time I was in Ontario.

The water levels in the great lakes have dropped for about 20 years, the last two they have recovered some from long winters, cooler summers with lots of precip. Climate change is a reality.

If you love hiking and some incredible views, take the time. It is only an hour or so hike from the campground at Cyrpress lake to this are. The water as you know, is incredible.
Stop on the way back and visit Indian Falls, I will be posting a video on that shortly. There are 4 incredible falls in the Owen Sound area, well worth the short hikes and visits... Life flies by, slow it down with a breath of nature .... Cheers

I was up there the same time this year. I swear we were standing side by side for the shots of the sunset. I have very similar pics. As for the grotto, you were very lucky to get the shots you did of it in its natural beauty. When I was there there had to be at least 300 people around scaling the rocks, diving and swimming. Excellent footage. Wasn't long ago but still brought back wonderful memories.

Glad you enjoyed the video. The sunsets there rival any others in Southern Ontario. It truly is a jewel. The grotto is usually busy, we left when it was raining, and then it cleared up as we got there. Safe to say an hour later, it was not so quiet. It does bring a content feeling, if you can get the quiet moments there... Cheers.
