Target ATM Thief on Security Cameras

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A robbery at a Target store in Lake Charles early Monday morning is being described by police as "unbelievable."

It was around 1:30am when at least three suspects smashed a vehicle through the front door and took off with the store's ATM machine. Now, authorities are asking for your help in tracking down the suspects.

The surveillance video is dramatic. At leas More..t three men backed a vehicle into the front entrance of Target, searching for the ATM. It didn't take long for the robbers to get what they came for.

The entire smash and grab took no longer than two minutes.

So far, they've eluded capture. Detective Jeff Keenum with the Lake Charles Police Department says he has a hard time comprehending the brazen nature of the robbers. "I mean, it's unbelievable to me that someone would be so bold and brazen to do that. Target always has people there 24/7. The casino is right there. Buffalo Wild Wings is right there. So I'm certain that there is someone who saw something."

At last word, the damaged doors have been replaced but are not yet operational. Police were able to locate the vehicle used in the crime, as well as a second vehicle believed to be used as a lookout, at approximately 8:00 Monday morning.

The ATM was there, as well, but had been emptied of its contents. All items were found in the 400 block of College Street.

Remarkably, this robbery was committed right in front of a cleaning crew that was in the store at the time.

Actually I think that working at a Target might be easier than making money this way. Let's say that the ATM had $9,000. Split three ways, that's $3000 each--only enough money to live on for 2 or 3 months. People think that getting paid in cash is great--but they don't realize that you are not making social security contributions and so you won't be getting any social security in your old age.

This video makes no sense, with how long they had to spend there smashing into glass in order to take out the ATM machine security, the cops could have already arrested them before they had a chance to take off, assuming they did get away in the video.
