More US troops are preparing to leave Iraq despite a recent wave of violence in the country. American soldiers are almost at the end of their combat mission after seven years of fighting. However, about 50,000 will remain in Iraq to provide training and support for local security forces. RT talks to John Laughland from the Institute for Democracy and Cooperation.

Actually you are lying about 1/2 being children.

The world isnt as stupid as you are to ignore history that Iraq violated surrender treaties of 1991, violating no fly zones, violated sanctions, killed its kurds and was perfectly legal for USA to enter.

1- Oil need - false as oil would have been cheaper had we bought from Saddam.

2- No democracy aside from a multiparty vote - they didnt have before.

"personal revenge" - retarded reporters opinion and ignorance.

  • Pompous Pontificators who do nothing but judge others....... More Americans die on American soil every year at the hands of other Americans than died in the entire Iraq war. Its in the news everyday and in CDC/FBI stats. And every American is Guilty for the violence, fear and apathy that takes place everyday.... for doing nothing.

  • George Bush Jr didn't invade Iraq in revenge for Saddam's attempt assassination on his father, this was made up by the anti-war and anti-Bush to justify in trashing him many times. The world strongly ignored the history that Iraq violated the 1991 ceasefire treaty, firing on coalition aircraft patrolling no-fly zones, throw out UN inspectors into WMDs program, and even failed in trying to invade Kuwait in the mid-1990s thanks to U.S. presence in Persian Gulf. The world is better without Saddam.

  • @jabberwolf agree. Iraq war is a continuation of Persian Gulf War. Bush 's prediction of Domino Effect of one regime falling after another in Middle East is taking place. Interesting UN resolution 1441,in 2002, gave Saddam final chance to come clean with all UN demands or face the consequences, which is military action. Similar to UN resolution 687, in 1991, prior to Operation Desert storm. Now, China and Russia have most of oil contracts with Iraq. US did a world favor by eliminating Saddam.

  • @jabberwolf lol so you think its cheaper to get oil from saddam then take over the country and get free oil and make even more money? think wise

  • All comments are misguided. You are all sheeple being led to a n.w.o. They have done their job well. get educated before you make a blinded statement

  • pakistanis love russia :P

  • guess i am the only one who agrees with the war in Iraq. toke down a whole dictatorship its not like we sent people who didn't want to go

  • @TruLuken That war was still stupid and misguided regardless of Bush's motives.

  • If the war in Iraq is over why are 50,000 troops still there? Are these peaceful troops who don't carry guns? Tell the truth Obama. It's the same war, you are just trying to convince us that changing the name makes it different. He insults my intelligence.

  • @DSSNTC You do realize 40 other countries sent troops to Iraq and Afghanistan, right? All you have to do is use google.

  • Operation Provide Cheap Gas to America So Middle-Class Americans Can Afford To Drive to Their Shitty, Godless, Robot like Menial Jobs to do Tedious Activities While Their Corporate Despotic Overlords Net 1000 Times Their Yearly Earnings While They Enjoy 180 Games of Golf a Year.

  • @dadecountyhustler305

Idiot you still sleaping in coma of idiotism. It's time to wake up, american scumbag.

  • @DSSNTC i agree with u and guess what im American

  • @MrChipmunkor i know..Truth hurts..and most Americans will try to find an explanation to make it look not so bad for them..but if you travel around the world and ask people about their opinions towards the US you will be surprised dude how much people know about the US corrupt policies (Americans are blinded by the US media) and how much they hate US policy and US politicians..Gradually this hate is also extended towards the American people as well since they are doing nothing to stop it.

  • this war is like vietnam but instead of the Us losing it's netither a win or lose

  • @MrChipmunkor and when i meant ur right I mean't how US is in iraq at it's current condition

  • @DSSNTC ur right about how the U.s is in iraq but i dont know about the rest you said

  • @TruLuken uh no some of us wish we can but we are afraid. i am in the highest crime city and i wish i can help but i just cant. the police arent doing anything. what are we going to do have a battle with gangs and take them out, NO. i pray and make sure the streets get better but im not gonna waste my life trying to get rid of gangs and loose my life i have much in front of me so every American is not guilty

  • Russia bitch plz. Nobody liked Saddam for good reason and even Russia supported a US invasion of Iraq. So cry a fucking river and hire 2 British nationals disguised and a Paris effel tower background to try and throw the viewers off of your pathetic attempts to "divide and conquer" the wonderful relationship we have with our European friends. ... Russia you still running KGB tactics... TSK, TSK...

  • @jabberwolf USA have no right to enter any country..The US went alone, while the whole world was against it. so to say its perfectly legal is the kind of arrogance that made people hate American policy and start to make allies with countries like China. your oil need point is false, because saddam was going to sell oil in Euros, if that happened it would encourage other oil producers to do the same which will destroy the dollar, the whole American economy is dependent on the petro-dollar.

  • @c3333333335

Yes and THAT has to do with Iraqis, muslims, kurds, other factions killing eachother.

Peace is profitable, not just in profit but humanity.

Its a very good lesson that leaving a vacuuum, and leaving a country, does not produce peace.

The strong do not see compromise and withdrawl as admirable/peaceful - they see it as weakness to take advantage over.

  • @jabberwolf cost is the whole country is into turmoil, division and violence

  • @rungsat1

    "Germany and Japan...have been civilized"

    Civilized!!? US should civilize itself.

Behaving like wild animals all over the world, with no respect for human lives

  • @jabberwolf & TruLuekn, you got it. These two meatheads are royal "arseholes": One's sitting in Moscow the other is in Paris. And they're both self-righteous Brits. I think they should get together & swap spit and continue their love fest. The only part of the argument I'll even buy into is the revenge angle. But for oil? What a joke. The USA gets less than 30% of it's oil from the Middle East. The majority of our oil comes from Mexico, Venezuela and Canada. Dipshi-ites.
