  • did you use any pedals when you played that riff from "extreme"?

  • You get natural distortion from cranking the volume. Actually, most distortion pedals take away from the sound of the plexi imo.

But anyway, you just crank the volume really high, thats how hendrix, clapton... all those cats did it. You usually need something to control the volume though to be able to play at managable volumes, like a hot plate. but anyway, you would get much better tone without any pedals at all

  • i think that plexis sound alot better with humbuckers.

  • To get the tone out of that plexi, put a mxr micro amp in front of it with a bit of gain and crank the amp up a bit. Or just crank the amp all the way full blast. Your tone controls don't respond much anymore at that volume and things might get destroyed, but it's a heavenly tone. Warm bitey compressed power tube distortion with give and take to your picking. Roll back the volume on your guitar for a" mighty" clean. It's so unruly, but utilizing it brings rock back to it's glory.

  • @ruffles272 He is using a humbucker btw, its just in a single coil size.

  • get haircut and get a job

  • geia sou re marshalliaaa.keep rockin greece

  • have you ever heard about jimmy page?

  • Plexis are 10.000 lovers in one! Im from Norway, TNT too:D

  • @hamercalif The thing is that plexis, are use with attenuators, so you can crank the volumes knobs to maximum and you get an excellent warm distortion without any pedal, at the right volume, I thinks that's what it mean metalhead16792

  • @hamercalif actually, it doesn't have a "clean" channel. you have to turn up the amp for distortion. that's why people bitch about how loud they are.

  • @hamercalif

    Only a half-truth.

George Lynch from Dokken played on unmidified 1959 SLP's, and he only used pedals for soloing.. Tom Keifer did it the same way.

If you crank the shit out of them, they will distort enough for hard rock or even 80's hair metal.. but not enough for soloing.
