@vxAREKxv Yes. They were very close to the same from 2005-2010. the biggest differences were cosmetic in the interior.

@vxAREKxv Yeah, the sun was pretty low in the sky which made it hard to see. :-(
Thanks about the driving. :-)

@ 100$ stock what was the bigges you had? I'm going to go out on a limb and say brakes?

@MarcsMobileAudio I am pretty certain the brake fluid was Motul, and pads may have been hotter, but definitely stock rotors, calipers, and lines. This was soon after I purchased the car and the only significant change would be the alignment (e.g. sixteenth inch toe out on the front, max negative camber, and zero toe in the rear ).

Is a z06 ok for beginner racers or would you recommend something slower.
Was there a lot of wear n tear your first year learning the advanced driving techniques?
Thanks.

I think a Z06 is fine as long as you take practice very seriously and do not ever let somebody tell you that a car is what will make you fast.
It is important to note that when you move really fast, things can also go wrong really fast. Most people will never take a car to the limits, and the same is true of a Z06.

As long as you really concentrate on driving before concentrating on driving fast, any car is fine. Your right foot is not always what makes you go fast. Sometimes it can make you stop really fast, too ... like when it gets you in trouble with a wall or another car. Use the foot wisely and build reflexes and feel the car, and a Z06 can be an amazingly goosebumpy thrill.

I will also add, however, that I have come out of my Z06 and hopped in my Z51 back-to-back and found myself laughing like a schoolgirl from all the fun I had in the Z51. They are totally different, and the Z51 is an amazing car to track with, too. I actually would suggest a Z51 if you ever thought you may want to turn it into a dedicated track car and race it. The Z06 is a lot harder to find a class for, and if you bend that aluminum frame, it is all over and you will be buying another corvette.
