For those not in the know, Skyblazer is a criminally underrated action/platformer for the SNES/SFC, developed and published by Sony Imagesoft.

This is going to be a full game-run, as requested by LaLiLuLeLoSnake. Keeping it segmented as purely a personal preference (for those who kinda have ADD for this sort of thing like myself).

This vid contains the prologue stage, Faltine's Woods, and The Temple Infernus. Not too proud of the Infernus boss fight -- you can catch it in an infinity if you wanted, but I, unfortunately, took the safe way out.

  • Was this game created by the same people who created ActRaiser and Soulblazer?

  • Nope, that's Quintet -- Skyblazer was developed by Sony Imagesoft.

  • Conquered this game over 4 times. Kicked Azura's ass and his flying head in. Not to mention the demon you fight at the end. But my favorite place was the tornado board. I've never seen a game have something quite like that. Can't believe Nintendo gave this up.

  • Really good game. Glad I picked it up for really cheap. The controls feels tight, and there's great variety in the levels and bosses.

I have a couple of issues though, it appears at times the hitboxes of your character and the enemies are off, as a wall can crush you even if visually you can fall down a gap, and it's easy to clip into enemies and take damage. Also the music can get repetitive at times. However, the rest of the music is a massive earworm, and reminds me of Spyro.

    Play it now.

  • I played this game a LOT when I was younger

  • Played this game when I was young and finally found it a couple of days ago.

I could never remember the name... anyway, fantastic game, my only complaint is that it's a bit too easy. Other than that, one of the greatest, most underrated games I've ever played.

  • ebay

  • Man, I loved this game back then. I thought I was like the only person who knew about it. I break out my SNES every 5 years or so and give it a play through. I'd love to see a VC release, but that seems unlikely given the publisher. Heck, I might even buy a PS3 or PSP if Sony were to revive this game!

  • i did the exact same search aas well great minds think alike!! i also like the soundtrack a great deal. do you know where one can obtain this

  • The real name of the game is "Karuraou."
