Tricia: Hi Tony and Hey everyone
Tony: Tricia, Texas is the new #1 this week. They just came off a huge win against Oklahoma. As a former collegiate athlete how can teams avoid letdowns after winning one of their biggest games on their schedule the game before?
Tricia: I think one of the biggest things teams have to remember is that you can never let your guard down. Although it is tough to forget a huge win in a big game, teams have to put last weeks game behind them and focus on the next game. Every game, whether against a big rival or the worst team in the conference, is important. A win is a win, no matter who the opponent is.
Tony: OK now its time for Tricias Chick Pick. Let me pick the big game from the Big 12. Texas plays Missouri and the Longhorns are 5 ½ point favorites. The game is at 8PM Eastern with ABC televising.
Tricia: Take Texas at minus 5 1/2 points over Missouri. The
Longhorns Colt McCoy looked outstanding against a #1 ranked Oklahoma last weekend. And Missouris quarterback Chase Daniel, a Heisman trophy finalist last season, is coming off his worst game this year, throwing only 1 touchdown and 3 second half interceptions.
Tony: Really you dont think Missouri wont be fighting mad after their loss last week? 5 ½ could be a lot to give Chase Daniel and an explosive offense.
Tricia: Well, like we were saying, last weeks game is last week. Missouri is going to have to put the past behind them and focus solely on the Longhorns. And, in my opinion, all the focusing in the world cant help Missouri beat Texas.
Tony: Now what about Chase Daniel bouncing back. Cant you forgive Chase for his bad game last week? I am sure you had bad games at CU and didnt you bounce right back?
Tricia: Well, yes, of course I can forgive Daniel! I hope that hes able to bounce back and give Texas a great game and yes, I had my fair share of bad games at CU, I just know from experience that sometimes, it takes more than 1 game to recover from a slump.
