The 'Sons Of Neptune' scene is living proof that these men where by far the greatest comics. It's one thing to do comedic gyrations (Jerry Lewis) but it is quite another to break up the entire cast, especially when they know what is coming. Most important was the fact that these two men made America laugh during one of its darkness periods, the early days of World War II when nothing seemed to be going in our favor. The shame of it, never to be recognized by the Academy.

'Starlite" sung by Dick Powell as sung by his character "Russ Raymond" aka 'Tommy Halstead'.

This is by far one of my FAVORITE A&C movies. My favorite part was "The Son's of Neptune" and they were both cracking up. It's classic.
Thanks. I remember this as a kid. They were such great comedians. I'm a Navy vet, so this episode was always kind of special. Little known trivia here - in the scenes where you see Bud and Lou wearing their "cracker jacks" (Navy blue uniforms) you'll notice the rank insignia on the right arm. In the real Navy it is on the left arm. This was something Hollywood was told to do during the war and shortly thereafter. You'll notice it in many films from that period.

It's funny to me that among "that grand-cast of fun-makers", Powell, Clair Dodd and Dick Foran, were all old-friends (and refugees) from Warner Bros., who had worked together many times during the '30's! R.J.
