Yeah, that other version appears on the Damned But Not Forgotten CD, and also the Cap. recorded his own version for his album The Power Of Love.

@guthywoodry true, I always thought this was the Damned's first attempt at cleaning up their sound in an effort to land a major record label.That being said you get to hear how great a voice Dave Vanian really has.

The lyrics to this masterpiece are the chilling match for what took place all over London in August AD2011; When the whole city was turned over & torched of an evening....

But it's true what many say, this great song isn't done justice by the piss-poor production - The sound is shallow & tinny, amateurish -even. Nothing like the hard-hitting early recordings that established The Damned as one of the All-Time Great Rock groups.

yeah its about the riots in brixton and toxteth in 1981,really weird to hear it now with whats been going on!!!

This is about the riots of somewhere in London , maybe Brixton some years ago.

I remember hearing C sensible talking about it , about how the riots were, in his opinion, a good catalyst to show how things needed to improve for those who were pushed by circumstance to ..well, riot.

Awful tinny tune compared to the usual Damned stuff though.
