Carl Sagan has inspired me, a teenager who smokes weed ;) to study physics and chemistry and aspire to be an astro-physicist. This coming from a guy who, last year before seeing this series i hated all science classes. Since watching this series i have learnt all i could about science and the universe around us and it is astonishing. Thank you so much Carl Sagan you are truly one of the greatest men in the last century and i would give anything to be able to have a long discussion with you.

rip to a great man/scholar/teacher a man who inspired many to take up science. only a few other people have inspired me to do better in my life such as douglas bader (ww2 uk fighter pilot with no legs who fought anyway) sir patrick moore (whos a very knowledgable authority on astronmy and a presenter a the longest running tv show in the world i believe)

@sirsagan You should also understand that Carl Sagan had a reputation for the use of mary jane, because it opened his mind to new insights. Which, considering the awesome mind the man had, must have been truly epic.

So, do use that which you must, while being a true scientist.

Any religion whatever they wish to name themsevle, that ever condems a man like him to "hell" is nothing but a group dedicated on making this life hell as much as possible so that nomatter comes next even "nothing" is better than this life and therefore heaven is little different from hell ... if one person can make so much of a fundamental difference to a person ... We create our own universe and our own destiny as much as possibe while still being part of the present one
