When I was a child, I had two hippy parents. When I grew up, I wanted to be a pro baseball player. I wanted to be Bill Lee.

The story I remember about Bill Lee was when the Yanks & Sox got into a fight at Yankee Stadium around 1978, Lee got a black eye & separated shoulder. When he walked out of the locker room, he had his arm in a sling and his face all black & blue. Some dingbat asked him how he got hurt and he said, "I gave a NY cabbie a small tip."

Lee wasn't the only player blackballed around that time. So was Dave Kingman. He hit 35 home runs his last year in the majors, was cut & nobody picked him up.
