A miracle of evolution and a location Charles Darwin has never been. Jellyfish Lake is a salt water lake cut off from the ocean for some 12,000 years and situated in the middle of one of the many rock islands of Palau.
As the sea levels rose after the last ice age the jellyfish were trapped inside this lake and over thousands of years have evolved into a completely unique species. With no natural predators in the lake to threaten them they have evolved to be completely stingless Jellyfish.
This footage I captured during the first two weeks I spent working in Palau. Enjoy.

without natural predators or prey, nothing to contest or threaten our existence we become numerous and a threat to ourselves.

Your "point of view" always makes it xtra special. You took good care making no bubbles pointing the camera towards the surface. AND also making no ripples when breaking the water surface. Thumbs up from Martin.
