A seven-month undercover investigation by Mercy For Animals (MFA) at rodeos across the state of Ohio has revealed startling animal abuse, both in the arena and behind the scenes. MFA investigators have captured on film animals being repeatedly shocked with electric prods, beaten with iron rods, punched, kicked, tormented, and left to suffer from injuries. What investigators witnessed are not isolated incidents of abuse but standard practice in the rodeo circuit.

pfthh, at 2:00 the announcer says "this is a family show!"

not for those animals, you bastard.

he must be watching the simpsons on a hidden tv somewhere.

I wonder how many people would watch this crap without the rodeo announcer and music to distract them.

Experienced handlers, unlike those shown in this video don't abuse the use of an electric prod or just beat on animals. Serious injury to rodeo livestock is rare.

A study was done years ago that showed rodeo cattle were less likely to die of an accident or disease than cattle on the range. Most rodeo livestock is very well cared for and live several years longer than those raised for slaughter.
