Sevenless/ Bride of Sevenless Charlie Williams

"Seveless/Bride of Sevenless" is the second in a series of pieces for a solo instrument with live electronics. Each piece is named after a pair of fruit fly genes picked from the online genetic research database www.flybase.org. The work contains no pre-recorded samples, but instead focuses on creating 'clouds' of sound around the live sound of the drum, often sustaining these long after the player has moved on to other material. Charlie Williams conceived this work after witnessing an overly energetic rock drummer at a show.
