This is the original HBO trailer for the Tom Hanks/Imagine Entertainment/HBO Films production of From the Earth to the Moon which was filmed in 1997 and premiered in 1998. I do not appear in the trailer, but I did play the role of the Mylar Engineer (Frank) in Episode 5 Spider which was about the development of the Lunar Module (LM) by Grumman Industries of Bethpage, New York. A video of my scenes in From the Earth to the Moon appears elsewhere on my YouTube page.

I was an Actor in this HBO TV Series "From The Earth To The moon". Believe me it was a blast. I had the Honer of talking with Tom Hanks on the set. I asked him, How did you get to be so famous? and he said " Roger, You just have to be yourself." He is truely a great Director as well as a Great Actor.

It's always been a favourite series of mine John, and your appearance in it was spot on all aspects. You thoroughly deserve the honour you feel having appeared in it! 'Spider' is consistently mentioned as the best of the series, and all those who made it should feel proud of not only that television series, but also the true accomplishment which contributed so much to aeronautics and modern technology today.
Interesting tidbit....the music @ 0:58 i I'm pretty sure is from the ol Jane's IAF game

What was that part where the people were wearing the gas mask, beeping noises, and an explosion? What was going on?

@asvb232 I was only in one episode of the series, but from your description I think that you may be referring to the Apollo 1 fire which occurred on the launch pad at Cape Canaveral in January 1967. Apollo 1 was scheduled to be the first manned mission of the manned lunar landing program.
A cabin fire during a launch pad test killed all three crew members: Command Pilot Virgil "Gus" Grissom, Senior Pilot Edward H. White and Pilot Roger B. Chaffee; and destroyed the Command Module.

Pete, HBO didn't make this. It was produced by Imagine Entertainment as an independent production company. And I would propose that you have no way of knowing what HBO knew or didn't know. But getting back to your remark about 15 minutes of fame... you've had your 15 minutes on my YouTube page.

Pete, I didn't post the trailer to try to convince anyone of anything. I don't care to convince anyone to believe anything... about the Apollo Program or anything else.
I posted the trailer because I'm an actor and a writer, producer and director. It's the way I make my living... telling stories. Whether the Apollo Program was fact or fiction makes no difference at all to me. Being a part of the telling that story paid my bills and fed my family... and it still contributes to my livelihood.

I really don't care if "it never happened." The HBO series produced by Tom Hanks happened. I got paid to be in it. I still get paid for my appearance in it. I get several checks every year.
It makes no difference to me that you believe "it never happened" because of some video you saw on Facebook that would be impossible to view had it not been for the Apollo Program. Why would you bother to seek out this obscure posting and write your comment, Pete? And why do you think anyone cares?
