Can't say how much I love this simple and elegant short. Beautiful.

@evil13rt haha you are just stupid. you have absolutely no idea how the world works. what you just said it so ignorant that I pity you

Two companies produced four of the finest aircraft ever developed, all viable. "Competition" forced us to select what we thought were the better two.
While it has been a motive for innovation, It didn't create stealth, the Atom bomb or lunar rockets. GM had electric cars long before Tesla (EV1). Market driven competition killed that project.
Competition is unnecessary when you already know what you want.
Paying two people to duke it out for a contract is a waste at that point.

@evil13rt the atf and jsf competitions produced two of the best jets ever created. tesla directly caused gm to create the volt. airbus and boeing have one-upped each other for decades. competition and survival of the fittest is the reason for everything good in the world. there is no rationalization you can do to discount the productivity of competition.

You mean like the fighter competitions that produced the F-22 and F-35 ahead of schedule and under budg... Oh, wait.
Maybe you mean like the race to build viable electric cars and fuel efficient airline... ok, maybe not that either.
TL;Dr: Competition is a process, not a plan.
Poorly implemented it can waste just as much money and time as a no bid contract. The Poor implementation of ideas is at the core of why we can't do space anymore.
-
oh hey look, everything good comes from competition, who would have fucking thunk it
-
@Mattnesss let's see em stop wasting what they've got first.
-
Yes, very cool indeed. I endorse expanding the space program. We could use a new frontier about now. :-)

One of a kind!
I once heard this movie was created with the intention it to be featured on National Geographic or other main TV channels, but I never got this confirmed (some people claim a public organisation such as NASA can not advertise like a commercial entity which I find really a pity if that is true!).
Anybody know more about the history of this movie?
Cheers!
