A Meccano Fruit machine (slot machine) made almost totally out of 1970's Meccano parts. Built July 2008 - May 2009. It has been to several UK exhibitions and was dismantled 5th July 2010.

  • Is this the same machine that was described in Constructor Quarterly 87 dated March 2010? Not only a mechanical genius but also a published author.

  • @newspaniard It certainly is, it took about 2 months to compile everything for CQ including a special photo shoot. I think bar a couple of mistakes the article came out very well. I know that the Moray Meccano modellers are attempting to build it, and the best of luck to them.

  • No refill switch. The coins can be placed direct into the coin pool with care. If more than one at a time is put in it they can jam vertically. I suppose a refill switch would just consist of keeping the coin drop electromagnet on so they just fall through.

The only refills I like are the coffee type at restaurants :).

  • good work :)
