Nice sound.
Tx for posting.

@Drew78 the yamaha is great and is really depends on which cannonball your talking about. if your talking about the stone series than the cannonball would be the better sax, greater dynamic range, intonation, tone and feel. they are both great but the cannonball beat the yamaha in every catagory slightly.

@Drew78 yea i have that same question, i favor cannonball cuz of the look and sound, but construction and durability wise , the yamaha probably is better...

Im gonna disagree I naturally sound horrible on a cannonball like there was NO comparison to the 82Z or 62 or most of the selmers (incudling a Mark 6) and the JK i ended up buying. I sound way better on my old yamaha 52 im not sure why just cant play on them i also dislike a lot of little things about it that are just personal things but that is just me

I have the big bell raven series cannonball alto sax myself and I absolutely love it!

cannonballs r def the best relatively cheap saxes on the market
i hav a "raven" tenor, and ive been lovin it since i got it 3 years ago. Im gettin a soprano soon, and its safe to say thats its gonna be a cannonball. The sound they make is so rich and moody...i love it.

Cannonball destroys an 82z.
But it's about what feels good to the player. I have the last year they still made Cannonballs in the U.S. and I LOVE it.

I can't offer an opinion on the 82z because I haven't played one. It wasn't in my price range so I didn't bother trying it out. I'm pretty sure it's an excellent horn though. All I can say is that I'm more than happy with my Cannonballs. (My only complaint at this point is some minor key clicking on a couple of the lower keys, but I think my technician can remedy that easily enough).

Far more interesting than my version! Very nice.

Thanks again, but don't sell yourself short. I just listened to your version and I think it's lovely and quite interesting indeed. Mine is a very straight-forward interpretation with a simple harmony to the melody and a deliberately sparse backing of just percussion and bass. I liked the contrast of the guitar and flute on your version, especially between the solo sections.

I definitely think the Cannonballs are well worth the investment. You might still hear some negative comments about Cannonballs, but almost all of those come from people who have experience with the earlier models. The newer Cannonballs are vastly superior to the earlier ones, and superior to many of the better known professional brands as well. I have yet to hear a negative comment about the newer Cannonballs from anyone who actually knows enough about them to be a credible judge.
