where's the clip of the 96 Olympics, women relay? the guys are up, but not the women. I see some company's selling a dvd of some sorts.

@MultiTrackstar123 Cryste gaines seriously? i know inger was banned for a minor substance so i'll let that go!

@MrFlexybee I love me some ashford. she's one of my favorites. but the great thing about track is that the one who "deserves" to win doesn't. It's the person who's fastest. At these games, it was flojo.

@CHEETAH69 if Flo Jo had run the second leg ,ashford would have also run a comfortable anchor for the US.Flo jo had an incredible speed which would have destroyed the back stretch.anyway it was still good they got someday in form to run the last leg.the final of the 4*100m relay in 1988 really shows who should have won the open 100m.Ashford really deserved that gold medal better than anyone else.

@paulouk83 the only person thats not clean is marion jones

@jbrumundsmith nothing's wrong with the 3rd leg. it's just not a leg that best utilizes a sprinter's all out speed. The proof? Take a look at the 2nd rate runner giving flojo a run for her money on that leg from East Germany. A team with Brown, Joyner, Torrence and Ashford (and good passing) could have annihilated the old standard. And sorry, I just can't be made t believe that 1988 flojo on that long back stretch couldn't have done amazing things if allowed.

@CHEETAH69 That is a statement not founded in logic. What is wrong with third leg? People seem to think that second leg is the "longest" leg even though it's possible to make it the SHORTEST leg. The third has just as much potential to be the longest leg as does the second leg. Flo Jo was great curve runner, so putting her on the third leg seems to be a good idea. I would have liked to see her anchor too, but they had a pretty decent anchor in Evelyn Ashford. Their handoffs were bad.

this should have been a world record. easy.

what a clean team!!! not!

Everyone is so quick to say this team wasn't clean just because the US has had their share of druggies in the past. Just because that is so, that does NOT mean that every person or relay that does well is tainted. There are so great, clean, and honest athletes out there, such as Gail Devers. What's even worse is that, ive checked other videos, and people have RARELY mentioned the possibility of drugs or said anything negative about the Jamaican team that came out of nowhere in 2008. SMH
are you joking? this team is hardly clean!

aarontlondon, I aree with you 100% Flo Jo should have been 2nd or 4th leg on that relay. To put your fastest runner on the 3rd leg is just stupid. I mean each of the runners on that team was running well under 11. There's no earthly reason why they shouldn't have broken the WR. Instead, they just BARELY won.
