Been long time since I heard a 8v71N, a lot of MCI9s were repowered with 6v92Ts. The 8V71N sure sounds intimidating, and rev like hell! Those 8v71Ns were workhorses, they could scream all day.

That Detroit Diesel 8V71N mean business. Nothing like hearing a Slicer Manual Transmission. Nice job catching that sound.

those i think both had the old Eaton 5 speed or Spicer 4 Speed. Those 8v71's were damn sure hittin the high note
