  • I could tell which one was the Variax each time, there is always a 'Line 6 tone' which I can hear on my spider amp.

I feel really bad saying this, but the Variax just doesn't sound as good to my ears.

  • @RyanPullin That's exactly what I was going to say. After the first one it was easy because the real one was always brighter than the Variax.

  • You can tell staright away which is the real guitar sound as i feel the variax sounds/tones sound artificial compared to the the originals. There is no comparison to the Tele, Strat, Les Paul or general Acoustic sounds :)

  • holy shit.

  • tele crunch did sound better on variax must of had some thing screwed up the acoustic was easy to tell because its a simulated mic'ed acoustic on the variax so you say its horrible but I say thats what acoustic is suppose to sound like the piezo pickups in acoustic guitars butcher the sound compared to what you hear when you play un-pluged.

  • I only got two wrong, the strat crunch tone and the tele crunch tone...the les paul crunchy was pretty close too, and the acoustic was awful, but for an electric guitar, it was awesome.

  • The Les Pauls was pretty accurate. The sound of the variax sounded a but compresse and the acoustic was horrible but over all they were all pretty accurate.

  • The strat tones were a bit off, and the acoustic sim was pretty bad :p. But the rest were really accurate, and some the tele tones sounded better on the line 6 than the actual Telly!

  • I own 66 percent of this setup so I know how it sounds, but the one I was still really impressed by was the tele crunch; way better sound on the variax IMO. The clean Tele wasn't fair, since it was recorded differently ;)

Also wanted to use this opportunity to say that I really enjoyed this video and the dream set up video. Hope to possess the full 100 percent one day...

  • what song is that at 2:45? i know it but i cant for the life of me remember the title! its driving me nuts :L!
