...passing Lier station and closing Drammen. The gates are there to prevent animals + "drunk norwegians" to enter the tunnel.

Lieråsen Tunnel is a railway tunnel on Drammenbanen between Asker Station and Lier Station in Norway. The 10,723 m long tunnel was opened in 1973 and was the longest railway tunnel in the country until Romeriksporten was opened in 1999.

After the tunnel was opened, the railway line between Asker and Spikkestad Station was kept for commuter trains, though the traffic between Spikkestad and Drammen Station was terminated.

  • question? where do the doors go when two trains are approaching the tunnel entrence?

  • @pokesomi These doors only turn 90°.

  • @JuhaVnt ok so if two trains, 1 on each track approach 1 has to wait or do both sets of doors rotate 90 degrees.

  • @pokesomi Both sets turn. ! set for each track :)
