A pit bull killed by our veterinarian.. His name was Bobo..

BoBo had a mass of something on the left side of his neck. He was never sick or had any sad days. He was extremely healthy other than his lump on his neck. We had three different veterinarians look at his neck, everyone had a different opinion.
The veterinarian that we picked advised that they could do a bi-ops and determine what exactly it is. No big deal - day surgery. Well, BoBo went in at 8:00AM on 19Aug2010, picked up at 4:00PM died at 8:44PM. After picking up BoBo from the Vet, we were calling them back advising that he was crying and would not stop. We were trying everything to give him a pain pill, crushed, dissolved, etc. He was so sick and we were so upset we telephoned the vet again and they said to meet them at the clinic in one hour that was at 7:42PM.
We were here at 8:30PM, and BoBo kept whimpering (he was in so much pain and we knew, because he never was sick) and then stopped breathing. My husband was on the telephone advising the vet to please hurry and I was giving BoBo, CPR. While I was giving him CPR, he would wake and breathe and try to give me a kiss. I will never ever forget how sweet, he knew that we were trying to keep him breathing. I kept giving CPR and my husband kept crying and begging the vet to hurry. (I have my certification license for CPR and I passed with a 100, but nothing prepares you for not being able to revive another life.)The vet got there around 8:50PM, and BoBo had died in our truck. We still rushed him into the clinic and they tried to revive him, but he was gone.
They said he had a heart attack, but the doctor advised me at 4:10PM in the waiting room of the clinic (before we picked BoBo up) that she had nicked an artery (but she tied it off). We knew then that he was bleeding inside, was why he was whimpering so, and he died due to complications of his surgery. We are unable to sue the vet, but we wanted to ask everyone, if you recognize our BoBo, and you have taken a picture of him sitting in a vehicle (mustang, truck), could you please send us your picture. Bottomline: we took in a healthy dog to the vet and the vet killed him. The vet was Resinger. Today, is Dog Day and today BoBo, has been gone for one week. The very first picture of BoBo in the slide show, is two days (in our truck), before his surgery.

  • What a sad, sad story, I am so sorry for your loss.

  • Very sorry for your loss :(

  • I am so sorry for your loss BUT to say your vet 'killed' him is simply not true. Yes, he had post op complications, but you will of signed a consent from before he had surgery, accepting the risk. It's very very sad when an animal dies post op but your vet did not 'kill' him.

  • I'm am so sorry
