  • Great video

  • @ModelloursWorkshop Thanks, glad you like it!

  • @Jedi2X98 You can use Tamiya enamels, but you have to be aware that the beauty of oils is that after the thinner evaporates the oil paint itself is still wet and easily wiped away. The enamel paint will dry much harder much quicker and require a lot more effort to remove the excess, possibly damaging your finish in the process. The beauty of oils is their easy manipulation. I do use enamels but as a pin wash - very specific applications.

  • Damn you Mr Manton.... now I got to go and build something today! ;)

Awesome video, BTW you are not alone on the "smudge" wash... I do the same. On some OD planes I even painted a lightened OD (with white or yellow) then satin coat it and do a smudge wash with burnt sienna oil paint... after removing the excess I might go back and overspray it with thinned OD. Turned awesome for faded out or sun bleached OD aircrafts in the pacific.

  • i like this wash, but can i actually use tamiya enamels diluted with tamiya enamel thinner? or will the end product turn out not so well?
