I'm going to start reading Supergirl. I'm not into Superman's mythology too much (read all of Death of Superman and Kingdom Come) but Supergirl seems like it might be OK. I surprisingly liked Terra's limited series that had her. I'm such a DCU noob.
Is it a good time to jump on board?

Supergirl is a mediocre title that has some great art and is fun. Not sure that right now it is the most easily accessible though because it is part of the whole New World of Krypton crossover throughout the Superman titles. Still a good read though.
